CloudLinux enables us to host each account in such a flawless manner that we can set a resource limit for every individual account. What evoked our interest in CloudLinux?
CloudLinux, created in 2009, is the first commercial operating system which is designed specifically for hosting providers. CloudLinux Features: What makes CloudLinux so different?
LVE: LVE short for Lightweight Virtual Environment, is the technology behind the CloudLinux functioning. LVE is a collaboration of Apache modules and Linux kernel, which altogether isolates and assists in monitoring of resources on CloudLinux. However, this doesn’t mean that there is a ban on users, they can still view their files and other system-files that they need to follow. The only difference is that they can’t view each other’s files which would compromise the servers security.
MySQL Governor: Through this feature called as MySQL Governor, we can control any user who occupies more resources in shared hosting. This can be integrated in system to track all these users and throttle them.
This feature provides assistance to the system administrator by providing more flexibility over CPU, RAM etc. It also helps to manage connection issues, such as runaway PHP scripts. This feature can also diminish the number of support related inquiries.
OptimumCache: This feature comes into play when administrators have to deliver stable servers to all users. The feature can help in reducing server load by 20-30%. OptimumCache solves the issue of I/O and server memory by making a cache of duplicate files. These duplicate files create only one occurrence in memory cache. With improved speed of reading replica files and reduced memory footprint, load on hard disk gets automatically lowered. Users using web applications like Wordpress will benefit the most from this feature.
Hardened PHP: PHP is the most widely used server side script. Due to such a wide usage, it gets attacked often by hackers. Moreover, almost 85% of PHP sites are not supported by PHP.net. HardenedPHP secures all unsupported versions of PHP by patching them up along with saving them from potential vulnerabilities.
If any PHP version has become outdated and you can no longer update it, HardenedPHP will help you avoid re-writing of PHP version. This feature helps in providing more flexibility and security to all users.
